Adorably Rustic Prince Edward Island E*sesh!

I'm off to Brugge {again (: - click here for details on our last trip to Brugge + honeymoon tips} with J and my parents for the long weekend ahead. Can't wait to climb the bell tower, take a ride through the canals and relax in our b&b right in the center of town. :) Hope you have some fun plans for the weekend, too! For today, I thought I'd cure some wanderlust for those not traveling with an e*sesh shot in Prince Edward Island with Brendan and Sara-Jane, submitted by talented photographer Lauren Craig:

These lovely images totally conjured up memories from a vacation I took many moons ago with my parents to PEI. If you were any bit interested in the Anne of Green Gables series growing up, you'll know what I'm talking about. We totally made the pilgrimage to Green Gables and I'm still convinced we found the hotel they would occasionally feature in the Avonlea series - c'mon, I know it wasn't just my Mom and I watching all those years???

Lauren brought along her father-in-law's childhood bicycle for the shoot - how sweet was that? And that cherry red color? LOVE. Lauren is shooting Brendan and Sara-Jane's wedding in August and she's bringing the bike along with her - I seriously can't wait to see the great shots! ;)

How awesomely adorable is that vintage suitcase at the Kensington train station?!

Wednesday Wedding Idea: Geode Bottle Stoppers

How ingenious are these bottle stoppers from Michael C. Fina?

I came across them via this blog post where Emily shares her own DIY take on the geode bottle stoppers. {Perhaps I used the word ingenious too soon in this post?}

While the stoppers look ridiculously awesome adorning wine + booze bottles on bar carts and kitchen islands, I can totally see them being used in, you guessed it, weddings!!

I'm imagining a cluster of antique depression-era glasses/vases/bottles filled with flowers of one hue {much like the photo above} with a few geode stoppers sprinkled in the mix. I think they'd add a a brilliant touch of texture, shine, glimmer, glitz, interest, intrigue ... the whole shebang.

I also love the idea of placing old family photos in a few bottles {like those below} ... you know what they're missing, though? Geode stoppers. ;)

What do you think? Would you try the geode bottle stopper look?


ps. I just added a big hunk of crystal quartz encased in tawny sandstone to our coffee table and I'm working on DIYing a rock finial for our alabaster lamp ... please tell me you're knee-deep in geode love, too?

Glimpse of the French Countryside

We're still unpacking from our week-long getaway to the French Countryside {Eure Valley and a bit of the Normandy coast} but I thought I'd drop in with a few sneak peeks ...

Giverny and Monet's Gardens were nothing short of spectacular. And the CB monogram - um, love it.

A shot on our way 'home' to our b&b ... we had to take the tiniest roads, sometimes dirt and this is what our view was most of the time {above}. Below, our b&b. I simply cannot say enough positive words about our stay here and the lovely hosts. Marvelous. I will share more later in a longer post. ;)

And that would be my favorite man in the world carrying one of my newest treasures {an antique trunk from Paris with travel stickers from Marseille, Lyon, Paris and more} through the streets of La Roche-Guyon on the morning of a brocante. xox.

Friday Find {+ CB Looooves Them}: Preppy Ginger Jars

Have you fallen prey to the ginger jar craze yet? I'm falling hard though still have yet to make a first purchase. However, that hasn't kept me from lusting after them, pinning them and then lusting some more.  Ginger jars exude that stately/regal/old-money vibe which is hard not to like. I happen to think they would make amazing centerpieces at a summer wedding. I'm imagining the Cape or the Hamptons. The palette would be all-white with minimal hints of deep blue. The ginger jars would be overflowing with white arrangements - think tulips, paperwhites, gardenias and hydrangeas. Here's a little bit of my vision brought to life:

I also think the jars would pack a punch with a bouquet of bright-yellow tulips! Or this fab ginger jar with ombre-hued delphiniums looks rather fabulous:

Now please be a lamb and tell me my "research" wasn't in vain and that you're totally going to be using ginger jars at your next soiree ... or better yet, your wedding! Send me pics if you do, pretty please!

Gorgeous Winter NYC Wedding at The Bowery Hotel

Holly and Joe married last December at The Bowery Hotel in New York City and I think you'll be as smitten as I am with every detail. But I can't begin this post in any way other than by gushing like a crazy lady over Holly's gorgeous bridal attire. The first thing that caught my eye was that envy-inducing J. Mendel shrug - the colouring, the soft, feathery texture ... it's just too much fabulous-ness. And then that necklace that Holly purchased at Erickson Beamon in East Hampton - omg. Could it be any more divine? I think this may be the *best* winter bridal look I've ever seen:

 

 

Tell me you're as obsessed as I am with Holly's attire! I totally forgot to mention those amazing Jimmy Choo's and the adorable gardenia in her hair - perfection. And doesn't this look like a wedding you would want to be invited to? It looks so intimate, cozy and completely inviting - love the venue.
