Ballerina Fever in Barcelona

I have an in-depth travel guide post in the works for my recent Med cruise no. 2 but I just have to cut in and share this little jewel from Barcelona first!

If you find yourself honeymooning in Barcelona and you're a ballet flat fiend like me, find a moment to slip into Kokua {C/Boqueria, 30 (C/Banys Nous), Barcelona, Catalonia 08002}. It's located on a side alley to Las Ramblas. We discovered it well after the sun had set so as I neared the shop, it looked like a glowing oasis of shoe heaven:



I do wish we had discovered this before the two oversized Sangrias I downed that night. My senses were sadly a bit too, erm, impaired to narrow my choices. I figured I could order a pair or two online when I got home but unfortunately that's not an option. :( So don't pass up your chance like I did if you make it to Kokua!


The store reminded me quite a bit of Madrid's shoe store, LOBO {which I blogged about here}. Although Kokua's flats were a bit pricier than LOBO's ... still a steal compared to Repetto or French Sole / London Sole. If I remember correctly, they were around 60-80 euro per pair.


If I ever make it back to Barcelona, this little gem of a shop will definitely be at the top of my to-do list.

  1. I actually stumbled upon this place when I was in Barcelona back in February! I loved it in there, and definitely would've bought some shoes if i'd had the cash. Great spot!
