A candlelit ballroom wedding on a foggy evening in San Francisco may be close to the epitome of romance. eLLe PHOTOGRAPHY sent over this lovely wedding and I think you'll love it as much as I do!
From Laura, of eLLe PHOTOGRAPHY:
"The event took place at the Julia Morgan Ballroom, which is in the Merchant's Exchange Building in downtown San Francisco on a foggy San Francisco evening. The setting was perfect for this time of year as the interior is warm, candlelit & filled with gorgeous wood paneling. It was designed by the same architect who did Hearst Castle on the California coast.
Even better than the setting is this wonderful couple - Stephanie and Clay. They had each just about given up on finding "the one" when they met each other & it was practically love at first sight. They get along perfectly -- he's constantly making her laugh and they both just light up when they see each other. For their wedding, they really just wanted to have a good time with their close family and friends, and to have a timeless, classic affair. The bride carried black calla lilies, with one of her grandmother's earrings tucked in for her something blue. The couple said their vows and in classic character, made each other laugh and cry during the ceremony.
Their first dance was to the Etta James' classic "At Last," which Stephanie jokingly said "means a whole lot more when you find love in your 40s." Stephanie and Clay planned their wedding in only 3 months, and said that despite the quick timeline, it wasn't too stressful. They lucked out that the Julia Morgan Ballroom had a rare open date they were able to get, and they said they just didn't stress about other details. They used friends' recommendations for vendors, and if they liked them, they booked them. Everything turned out perfectly, so she's probably onto something!"
So sweet! Congrats Stephanie and Clay! And thanks to Laura for sending this wedding in! :)
