A Roman Holiday ...

Yep, I'm off to Rome for Christmas! One of my favorite gals from college is coming into town this week and we're jetting south for a little getaway! :o)

That means I won't be around to share fabulous wedding inspiration for the next week or so but I will pop in every once in awhile and CB will be back to regular programming as soon as the new year hits! I have lots of gorgeous weddings and inspiration shoots just waiting to amaze you! ;o)

Have a wonderful holiday and if you have any tips for me and my friend while we're in Italy, leave a comment or e-mail me! I'm off to watch Roman Holiday and The Talented Mr. Ripley! Ciao!

Monday Vintage Find: Glass doorknob wine stoppers

I have always loved the vintage appeal of glass doorknobs and if we ever get the chance to design our own house, they will definitely be making a strong appearance! Until then, I may have to be happy with having a few as stoppers in our favorite bottles of wine - Isn't that a genius idea? I first came across the idea in a little antique shop on the Gulf Coast and was reminded recently on an antiquing blog. You can either tranform a knob yourself or purchase one already made.

Wouldn't these be lovely at a wedding or as part of wedding gift?

I'm really loving the amethyst variety as it reminds me of my great-grandmother's back door ... the sun turned it a beautiful violet hue over years and years of use. :o) Think I may have to buy myself a little Christmas gift!

This gorgeously golden board was created by Jackie {of Merci NY} when she was guesting on CB in early 2010 ... I especially loved the warmth that almost seems to emanate from this board ... How about a warm, beachy Christmas wedding? I love the idea of incorporating a subtle candy cane theme with crisp red and white stripes throughout ... clean, classic and festive! "Luzern is a long-time favorite of mine. Nestled amongst the foothills of the Alps, it lends a rich history of traditional Swiss architecture blended seamlessly with modern European minimalism. This stark contrast captured my heart during my first visit and I strove to recreate that unexpected mix with this wedding board. Nothing shorter than a week-long celebration would do justice to a wedding in Luzern. I imagine a week on the slopes with dear friends and family, après-ski cocoa {or cocktails} and lodge fires. The exquisite Hotel Château Gütsch, which is perched atop the mountainside, could serve as the ceremony and reception site, as well as a welcome retreat for guests."
