Monday Vintage Finds: Mirrors + Poems, etc.

Apr 26, 2010

When I first came across these two ravishing mirrors, my first thought was to make a mental note to search for some similarly gilded mirrors during my time in Europe to create a similar effect - I love the idea of having a poem or lyrics in French scrawled across to create a piece of unique art.

Then wedding mode kicked in and I started thinking what a beautiful + personal touch it would be to include a mirror with a phrase, song lyric or poem that means something special to the bride and groom. I think it would be a lovely touch above the guestbook table or even as the focal point behind the altar flanked by some gorgeous florals. I also loooove that the specially-chosen words would be {literally} reflecting the couple, if used behind the altar. :o)

What phrase or saying, etc., would you have on your mirror?

That is completely brilliant! I love mirrors because the great frames offer such wonderful texture, shape and sparkle, but having too many mirrors can sometimes seem like you must be obsessed with knowing what you look like in every room of the house! This is such a great solution to take a beautiful mirror to the next level of art! That is also the most to die for interior I have seen in a while....I love decorative molding and trim.
