After our fun in New Orleans, we thought we'd head the opposite way to Mobile, Alabama ... On the way to the city, we stopped at Charles Phillips Antiques and Architecturals located deep down in the southern country! {You'll feel like you're in the movie Sweet Home Alabama} In fact, when we pulled up, we had to check the address because it looked like someone's home rather than a business ... as it turns out, it's both! After driving down a dusty dirt path, we found several old buildings that we soon referred to as little treasure troves ... Each contained gorgeously restored antique pieces and cleverly used architectual pieces. I already have a few pieces on my wishlist and I think I'll have to make a trip back before we move to Europe this summer ... It's obvious now why this little gem is so popular with interior designers!
Later, at another shop in Mobile, I spotted this oyster shell-covered lamp {below} ... What do you think? At first I loved it and then I wasn't sure ... but seeing as the Mississippi Sound is covered in oyster shells, I've already begun collecting some pretties for a project ... whether it's a lamp or something else. :o)
We ended our day enjoying milkshakes at Lovelace Drugs in Ocean Springs, Ms. ... It has the cutest retro/soda shop set-up inside and isn't the sign outside just scrummy?
I still have some more fun escapades to share with you and they'll be coming up in the next few weeks so stay tuned if you've been enjoying these!

Looks like fun! smiles.
