You all know I am a complete sucker for anything vintage and that's why I am sooo thrilled and excited to share this fabulously heartfelt vintage contest with you today!
The incredibly sweet Lisa Marie Rovito of Orange & Blossom has generously offered up some beautifully loved items that didn't quite make the cut for her adorable vintage shop but would still be lovely for a bride's big day. As Lisa Marie said, “The right woman would really appreciate these. Especially if she is on a budget or enjoys the innate charm of something that has been loved or is crafty enough to help it along and give it new life.”
Is that not the sweetest thing? I thought it was the perfect sentiment to pass along to my dear readers on Valentine's Day!
So here's the scoop:
Check out the items below and then leave a comment on this post telling us which item you love the most and how you would include it in your big day - Also make sure to include a valid e-mail address so we will have a way of contacting you in case you win the item you mention. Entries that do not include an e-mail will not be considered. Contest ends next Sunday, Feb. 21 at midnight CST and the six lucky winners will be announced on Monday, Feb. 22. Good luck!
ONE: 1950s pearl-tipped chiffon hat in champagne/ivory-beige. Very delicate and missing some pearls. This couture flapper style would be the perfect "veil" for a modern and stylish bride looking to add a vintage flair to her day. Front to back measures 7” and side to side measures 10”.
TWO: Adorable “half hat” of off-white feathers, 1950s: Glue shows on back of clear headband but would look incredibly chic wrapped around a bridal chignon ... I'm imagining sugar plum fairies dancing already! Small plastic band measures about 11”.
THREE: Amazing daisy-beaded gloves with flare/bell beaded cuff. One thumb just needs to be stitched up where it has split along a seam. Tag says they are “double woven cotton hand woven and hand beaded in the British Crown Colony of Hong Kong.” Fits a small hand, size 7; from the middle finger to cuff is 12 ½” and the cuff measures 5” across.
FOUR: Whiting & Davis silver mesh clutch. Made in USA: Some wear to interior and missing a rhinestone on clasp. Lisa Marie actually has a stone that is a very close match, just a tiny bit larger than the others, but barely noticeable. She would be happy to include it in the winner's package. Measures 5 ¾ high; 7" across.
FIVE: Small white clutch with heart-shaped design: Very small, doesn’t hold much, but has a great design. Bead loss along the front edge and wear to the interior. No tag. Still sooo cute! Measures 4 ¼” high and 7 ¼" across.
SIX: White beaded clutch with tulip design: Bead loss on back and could use a cleaning to fabric, especially on back. Tag reads "Exclusively made for La Regale, Japan." Likely 1950s. Love the look! Measures 4 ¾” high and 8 ½” wide.
{Orange & Blossom is a CB sponsor}

The 1950s pearl-tipped chiffon hat is gorgeous! If I won I would definitely wear that for the ceremony and reception!

I love the adorable 1950s off-white feathered half hat. I think it would pair perfectly with my off-white birdcage veil! :)

I love number 4! Not only would it be great to carry things on the big day, but it would look fabulous with a pair of jeans for a night out! (And putting a stone back in would be a piece of cake!)
ReplyDeleteI love #5 - it's probably just large enough as a "wedding essentials" handbag or even as a bridesmaid's gift. Since our wedding has some vintage flair, this would be perfect! Thank you! weisa@uncw.edu
ReplyDeleteThe white beaded cluth with tulipc design would compliment my dress perfectly as I tote it around on my wedding day : )
ReplyDeleteOooh they have so many pretty things on their website!

ReplyDeleteI NEED that feather half-hat. My hair is incredibly straight and heavy. Any type of curl I put would never stay and my hair would be so flat and ugly by the end of the night. I have resigned myself to a tight up-do, but I wanted something fun to make it look more organic and fun. We have a bird motif going throughout the wedding, so that hat is PERFECT. I reiterate -- need, need NEED!

#4...The Whiting & Davis silver mesh clutch for me PLEEEASE. I can totally see myself wearing this beautiful clutch with my wedding dress & my vintage-inspired earrings. Thanks for a great giveaway & happy valentine's everyone!
ReplyDeletemskenyaf@yahoo.com
I'm in love with item no. 5! I would lend it to my older sister, who's getting married this August, and then, of course, use it for my as-yet-to-be-scheduled big day. The heart pattern is divine!
ReplyDeletepeachandpearl [at] ymail [dot] com
The 1950's pearl tipped chiffon hat is totally glam. I would use it on my big day to take some vintage inspired photos in black and white.
ReplyDeletegreengirl@mail2web.com
Oh wow....I've just tied the knot, but I would have seriously considered ditching my own bridal clutch for that gorgeous silver mesh number! So modern and vintage all at the same time...and such a wonderfully versatile piece! It would look just as good with jeans and a good pair of heels as it would with a ball gown! Delicious!!
ReplyDeletethefrenchmouse@hotmail.com
I love the half hat.. This would make great addition to my birdcage veil I making...
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that silver mesh clutch is fabulous. I would base my entire "get away" outfit on that clutch. As well as use it during the reception to store necessities.
ReplyDeletemeldors@aol.com
love the silver mesh clutch!! this is not only great for a wedding, but can be worn with most anything post-wedding! thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeletemeredith(dot)targarona(at)gmail(dot)com
As a photographer, the ability to recreate timeless shots is always enhanced by using the right accessories. Pieces similar to 1 and 2 would be perfect to ensure a 50/60's shoot I am currently organising would be as realistic as possible.
ReplyDeletenumber two! the feather hat would be perfect for my deco themed wedding. i am wearing a genuine 1930's bias cut ivory dress and have been searching for the perfect hair accessorie for the assemble. thank you for this great giveaway! fallonbutler(at)hotmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteI love the gloves! what a great way to add a touch of Mad Men glamour to the big day (and beyond!)
ReplyDeleteLove,
KimSchisler@gmail.com
I'm in love with number two, the feathered half hat. I would wear it to the rehearsal dinner or with Kenley from Project Runway Halloween costume.
ReplyDeleteMarlene
marlenemaginot@gmail.com
Whoops! I meant my Kenley inspired Halloween costume.
ReplyDeleteI love the #5 pearl beaded clutch. I would carry it at my reception. It's an Italian tradition for the bride to carry a small pouch to hold envelopes of cash (the traditional Italian wedding gift) that guests present to the happy couple! -JD
ReplyDeletejil.dmorley@gmail.com
I love the sequined looking clutch it is so beautiful and glamourous. We are having a 1920s old Hollywood glam themed wedding. I am having a birdcage veil custom made that would go great with that clutch. In fact the woman who is designing it put a center piece into the fascinator that is a smaller version of the middle clasp on the clutch. barreau@wisc.edu
ReplyDeleteI'm in LOVE with the 1950s pearl-tipped chiffon hat :o) It's wonderful and would really go with my vintagey Champagne gown!
ReplyDeleteI love #4, the Whiting & Davis silver mesh clutch because it's so blingy and nothing else for the big day isn't really. Plus, it's the perfect size to carry around all my necessities (no pockets in my dress...)
ReplyDeleteThe small white clutch is perfectly adorable- the perfect accessory for the vintage bride! I love this because it's elegant, classy and would look AMAZING with my vintage inspired gown, vintage earrings, and not to vintage shoes. I am also wearing a birdcage veil--seriously, the purse would complete my look!

I totally agree with most, they are all beautiful and full of character. I found a piece like the HALF HAT at Hairy Mary (now located at the Brooklyn Flea Market). The piece I love the most is #1 THE CHIFFON HAT, as a Bride, it does not match my dress. But it would be an injustice to the finery just to wear it one day, therefore, I would honor the piece by wearing to church on Sundays...often, as it deserves.
ReplyDeletechocolatesnob@aol.com
I would love those beautiful gloves!!! How classic! Jacki O is my wedding inspiration! Those gloves would really make my wedding dress or my "get-away" out fit!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
meghankelleher3@gmail.com
I love #2, the "half hat" of off-white feathers. It is so lovely and chic!
ReplyDeletestigg100@chapman.edu
I adore the small white clutch with the heart design! My wedding dress is ivory lace...no beading or sparkle at all...and the only jewelry that I am wearing will be pearls. This would match perfectly with my ensemble...as I am a huge fan of the texture it would add!
ReplyDeletekolsen17@gmail.com
I love # 4 - it is the epitome of vintage glam and I want my brother's girlfriend/soon to be fiance to carry it!
ReplyDeletecncliving @ gmail.com
Pearl tipped chiffon hat! Oh, wow... The small white clutch is absolutely wonderful too. How very lovely.
ReplyDeleten[dot]rochford[at]gmail[dot]com
#2 is my fav! So classy, and would be great to wear on my wedding day, and then again and again after that! I love little touches that add that vintage vibe. And I happen to be the type of person who would wear fun vintage headwear for ANY occasion!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Leah

swoon...silver mesh clutch...
ReplyDeletekileybdavis@gmail.com
#3! We're having a vintage, music inspired wedding (think "la vie en rose" by louie armstrong). I'm wearing a knee length dress (a la Audrey Hepburn) and those gloves would just be PERFECT. I NEED THEM!

I am not getting married, but the white beaded clutch with the tulip design would be so perfect for my best friend who is! Although American, we grew up together in Japan. She's getting married in July in the Space Needle! The beading on this would match the beading on her dress so well, and the fact that it was meant for La Regale in Japan, it just makes it perfect!

The gloves!! Our wedding is what I dubbed, assorted vintage, and is on NEW YEAR'S EVE this year in the midwest...needless to say, it will be mightly chilly! I've been looking for a pair of nice vintage gloves...but most are uninteresting or shabby--unlike these. The details are unlike anything I've been able to find thus far while shopping around. Amazing!

I would love any of the three clutches to be my purse. I think #4 the silver mesh is my favorite and would go nicely with my slightly silver dress.
ReplyDeleteCheers,

I love clutch #4. It has the same vintage feel that I want cast at my wedding.
ReplyDeletedroessing@hotmail.com
I love #4 - Whiting & Davis silver mesh clutch
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous and would make such an impact with my dress!
bandb2010@gmail.com
I love the gloves! I also love all of the clutches!
ReplyDeletejbafaith2001@yahoo.com
I forgot to say that I would use the gloves at the reception, not the ceremony only because of the difficulty with putting on the wedding ring - if I had one of the clutches, it could be used at the reception, with get-away outfit and later for going out!
ReplyDeletejbafaith2001@yahoo.com
Wow! What fabulous options to choose from! #5: the small white clutch with heart-shaped design, is gorgeous and classic and would go perfect with my vintage-y wedding dress and pearl jewelry. Thanks for the giveaway! yeungs2 at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI love #4, the Whiting & Davis silver mesh clutch. After hand-sewing 7 bridesmaid clutches, I've been looking for a clutch that would be a little different, but still fit in with my gray motif. And my hands hurt :)
ReplyDeleteashtoncarabin@gmail.com
I love the small white clutch with heart-shaped design (#5). So cute, and how perfect for a day all about love. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the chignon feathers!
ReplyDeleteslippyoink@gmail.com
I LOVE love lovey love the beaded heart clutch!
ReplyDeletec.reynolds924@gmail.com
Hello lovely and beautiful small white clutch with the heart-shaped design!!! I dream about this clutch! I would give one to my mother, one to my mother-to-be, one to my maid of honor, one for my flower girl, and cherish the last one for myself. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeletelinleysjohnson@gmail.com
I love the silver mesh clutch! So lovely! I am on a budget and would be so excited to use it in my wedding!
ReplyDeletekourtygirl@msn.com
I love the Whiting & Davis clutch. When my little sister (also my MOH) was in junior high she bought a Whiting & Davis clutch and thus began her love of all things vintage. This clutch would be the perfect gift for her and a great way to show her how happy I am to have her as my MOH on my wedding day. jillian.aja@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I love the feathers! The wedding is whimsical and vintage-style already, and that feather headband would be just perfect around a bun;)
ReplyDeleteThe daisy-beaded gloves with beaded cuff are lovely! As I am petitie, I had to choose a simple gown to not overwhelm my body. The only way to dress it up with with hair adornments (not my style) or gloves. The problem with gloves is that most are way too big! I've been on the lookout for small vintage gloves. These are perfect! Our venue and my style is very mid-20th century (ok...I'm old-fashioned). I would wear them down the aisle and take them off for the ring ceremony. During the reception (pictures, entrace, and dances--not meal), I would have them on again. My mother is a seemstress, so the stitching of the thumb should be no problem. I would love the opportunity to restore them and put them to good use! They are beautiful!
ReplyDeletejulieasc (at) gmail (dot) com
That silver clutch is just PERFECT for my special day---it's the kind of razzle dazzle I'm going for---my dress will be made by a designer friend from vintage lace with elements of champaign, silver and...hot pink! Fingers crossed you'll pick me!
ReplyDeletekellybrons@gmail.com
I absolutely LOVE #4, the Whiting & Davis Silver Mesh Clutch! I am having my wedding in an old train station that's been converted into a Sports Museum. We are going for an elegant vintage baseball theme, and this would be a perfect complement to my ivory dress and champagne shoes!! A Home Run, you might say ;-)
ReplyDeletebriegoldberg1@gmail.com
I LOVE number 4. It would be so perfect for my wedding day, I'm totally coveting it.
ReplyDeletewittbax@gmail.com
I'm getting married on a brisk October morning and have been hunting for the right gloves for my gown. For a bit of warmth and sass! These gloves would do it. A bit warmer than a mesh glove & with beading that would tie into the beading on my dress!! I'll keep searching the antique stores - but I sure hope I could stop my search here!
ReplyDeletebrittanystiffler@aol.com
My fav is TWO: Adorable “half hat” of off-white feathers, 1950s
ReplyDeleteI'm an old school girl.. I love lace and feathers. The "half hat" would certainly give me a little old school classic flair on our wedding day.
tobewed11@gmail.com
These are all lovely. Orange & Blossom is full of inspirational pieces. Of these, I would choose the gloves, to protect my hands from the hot Australian sun (outdoor ceremony).
ReplyDeleteelissa at iinet dot net dot au
I am drooling over #2 right now! I have been looking for the perfect hairpiece to go with our wedding theme and my dress and this is it! I purposely picked a simple wedding dress, so I could do a more ornate headpiece, and this is a winner!
ReplyDeleteI love number 5, the small clutch with the heart designs! It would go PERFECTLY with my dress!
ReplyDeletebrianasnyder@yahoo.com
Love number 5! I didn't have any thoughts on where to begin with my jewelry until my mom offered me pearls from my dad to wear. Since then it has taken off! I'm a DIY type of girl and at a local discount store I bought a bunch of faux pearl strands on deep discount this week to make a hairpiece out of, sew a few into my veil, and create a few bouquet picks as well. This clutch matches perfectly- finishing off the theme! (added bonus- I REALLY need someplace to store a few tissues!)
ReplyDeleteThe Whiting & Davis silver mesh clutch is absolutely, outrageously, perfect and glam and all things I love about my wedding! It would make such a great photo prop for bridal shots and I could reuse it later as a bridesmaid in one of the 5 upcoming weddings I am in :)
ReplyDeleteI am digging the Whiting & Davis silver mesh clutch, I love the sparkle and the feel of that material and would use it all the time!
ReplyDeleteleannemagee13 [at] hot mail dot com
WOW! What an amazing giveaway! The adorable “half hat” of off-white feathers, 1950s is simply stunning! We are having a vintage themed wedding and this peice would be a perfect match for my dress. We are also incorporating birdcages and feathers into the decor, so this hat seems like a match made in heaven for us! Thank you for this great and generous giveaway! carlamtz44[at]gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI adore the silver mesh clutch. It would provide the perfect blingy, vintage flair to my simple dress, and it goes with the Gatsby-esque vibe I'm going for. Perfect for carrying around a few wedding day essentials.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the Whiting & Davis silver mesh clutch. I have a very glamorous/vintage/Gatsby vibe going for my look. A regular white clutch just won't work for me! I would be absolutely thrilled to carry this STUNNING bag.
ReplyDeleteswainbowlerwedding@gmail.com
I love #5...it is very sweet and simple, and I'd love to carry it on my wedding day. It'd be the perfect place to tuck my lip gloss, my something blue (a vintage blue handkerchief that belonged to my great grandmother) and a love letter from my fiance (we were in a long distance relationship for years, and I want to carry one of his letters on my wedding day as a symbol of our commitment to each other.) Thanks for this great giveaway!
ReplyDeletejennajean@gmail.com
First of all, I love EVERYTHING here, but I would say my favorite piece is the chignon half-hat feather-clip. I've never seen anything like it. My wedding look is very Old Hollywood glamour, so this piece would work beautifully - plus I plan to wear my hair in a chignon. So it would be perfect! Thanks for the chance to win. I LOVE Orange & Blossom. nicole.boddington@gmail.com
ReplyDelete#2 would be so fun for my winter wedding in the Colorado mountains! The half-hat would be such a fun compliment to my cowboy boots! Pick me! :)
ReplyDeletelaura.e.colby@gmail.com
i would rock the shit out of that mesh clutch.
ReplyDeletejenagirl73@gmail.com
The Whiting and Davis clutch is amazing!! It would be the perfect accent to my ivory 20's inspired dress and pink suede pep-toes! I hadn't even thought about a little clutch the day of the wedding...until I saw this!

ReplyDeletekariannekarianne (at) yahoo (dot) com
I love number 5 because it looks loved. It would fit right in at my wedding.
ReplyDeletebri [at] farflungfiancee.com
It's all about the 1950s chiffon hat. It makes me yearn! THAT hat would perfectly cap off my ruched sheath dress that gives me dangerous curves- short, sassy, and retro, with a high collar shrug to fit my SF City Hall wedding!
ReplyDeletedeshango@yahoo.com
I am absolutely in love with item number 6. That clutch would look perfect with my dress on my wedding day! Love! Kellycm@uga.edu
ReplyDeleteI love number 5 because it reminds me of my grandmother - cute and elegant at the same time. I'd carry the purse and think of her :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE #4!! It is so fun, absolutely stunning, and I know I would use it on my wedding day and beyond! Gorgeous! emeyers2@hotmail.com
ReplyDelete#1, the chiffon hat! It would look so snazzy with my dress. I would rock that during the reception after taking off my veil!
ReplyDeletejenniferstrickland@hotmail.com
I love number TWO, the 1950's “half hat” of off-white feathers. I bought my (budget-wise, 1950's vintage) gown on Thursday, and its incredibly simple but has a that perfect vintage look. I can't even explain how well these feathers would go with my dress and with my hair- since I plan on wearing my hair in a big knotty to the side bun! I just want to look pretty on the big day, but have only recently begun to think how I will pull it off... these would be perfect! Thank you! shauna.nep@gmail.com
ReplyDelete#5! #5! I love the simple yet chic detailing. You can't find stuff like that anywhere!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting this contest!
adriray327 at gmail.com
The feathered "half hat" is dripping with charm and perfection. I've already had my big day, but I love to wear old fashioned hats (which I've inherited from my grandmother), so I would love to wear this out on the town. Hats are back my friends and the world is that much more enjoyable for it.

My wedding is in early June of this year, at an old beach club in New England. I'll be wearing a tea length dress with a full skirt, and have been looking for a clutch to use - no. 5 would be just lovely and a bit of a nod to the sea we'll be beside. It would be perfect!
