February Fridays with Merci NY: Room to Wedding, p. 1

Feb 5, 2010

I am beyond thrilled to welcome Jacqueline Weppner from the oh-so-charming and sophisticated Merci New York blog to chat with us today {and every Friday this month!} about incredible wedding style. I'll turn it over to Jacqueline now so she can let us in on the direction she'll be taking her fun posts this month:

Hi there, this is Jacqueline! I’m thrilled Sarah has asked me to guest post on Classic Bride every Friday in February and I look forward to sharing chic and stylish wedding inspiration with you. My posts will focus on signature rooms by prominent interior designers. Each room will be interpreted into an inspiration board, translating the colors and overall aesthetic of each space into a wedding-worthy theme.

First up: Kelly Wearstler, a personal favorite of Sarah’s and mine. Since Kelly's fame is hugely attributed to her affinity for bold color, I selected her work at the Tides South Beach, where warm neutrals are paired with glam, gilded accents, and punches of heirloom gold play with organic hints of serene driftwood.

I imagine a Tides-inspired wedding swarmed in tactile elements, with lush dupioni linens marrying back to striations of pale wood grain accents. A hint of print (perhaps in a wedding dress?) would offer a nod toward mid-century nostalgia, but glamour would ultimately reign high with big, luscious blooms and warm, inviting lighting. Certainly not for the faint of heart, this wedding would be a perfect late summer soiree for a tres-chic couple.
