  1. what a genius idea! so many brides have horror stories of trying to change their name. i am taking the classic route and taking my fiance's last name, while keeping my first and middle.

  2. What a neat give-a-way! I'm still trying to decide about my name change. I will either be keeping my first and middle and taking my fiance's last name or keeping my first, making my last my middle name and taking his last name. But either way I can't wait to be his Mrs. S!

  3. I will be taking my fiance's last name. I thought about making my last name my middle name but my middle name is after a grandparent and there is much more meaning behind it. Thanks!

  6. I'll be taking my man's last name, it's very unique since it was misspelt by the officals on Ellis Island, nobody's ever heard of it before and I'll be proud to carry it when I marry him.

  7. I will go from Renee Ann Libby to Renee Libby Beck. I want to take my fiance's last name to signify our commitment, but there is no one to carry on the Libby name, so it's significant to me to hold on to it somehow.

My dad was really, really touched when I told him my plan; I worried he would be upset about my dropping Ann, as it's his mother's name. Both of his parents have passed, so I think it means a lot that I'm carrying on their name in a small way.

  8. I'm a traditional girl (plus my current last name is very difficult for people to pronounce and spell), so I'll be taking my fiance's last name.

  9. I'll be taking my FH's last name, and moving my maiden name to my middle name. With no boys in my family, I want to keep the name alive!

  10. My boy and I were originally going to take parts of our last names to make a whole new last name for our family. But we decided that since he's the last in his family to have his name, we want to pass it on, so I'm taking his name and our children will have my maiden name as their middle names (my middle name is my mother's maiden name).

  11. I'm excited to go from my random Ellis Island last name (London) to my fiance's more ethnic last name. I will be keeping London as my middle name, as the family name ends with me.

You wouldn't believe how many times I've been told "oh London, like the country!" or "oh, you must be from London." I'm very excited for something new!

  14. After my divorce, I wrestled with changing back to my maiden name. After much consideration, I decided not to, for fear that it would cause confusion with my son at school, etc. Happily, I am now engaged to be married Sept 2010 and will be taking my fiance's last name...with my son's blessing!

  17. I plan on taking my now fiancee's last name and switching it with mine. My first name is from my father's side of the family, my middle name is from my mom's side of the family, and this way I'll have a name from every family I'm a part of!

  24. I'm taking my fiance's last name and keeping my middle name. It's something I thought about a lot, but it really meant a lot to him and I think it will be nice to have the same name as him and our children, so I finally decided to take his name!

There is one problem though--once I change my name, I'll have the same name as a celebrity, which could be kind of annoying... I have a feeling there are lots of "Full House" and "Olsen twin" jokes in my future. So, I made a deal with my fiance: I will change my name and he will let me get a puppy (he's slightly allergic, but I love dogs). I think it's a pretty good deal! This kit would be extremely helpful!

  39. It is actually funny that you mention this because I have a little less than 5 months until my wedding day and Im having a really hard time deciding. I grew up wanting to take my future husbands last name and then 4 years ago my dad passed away. He had 3 girls and no boys and Im the oldest and last one to get married. My sisters both took their husbands name so I have not yet decided. Tough decision.

  42. Such a great way to lessen the stress! I will be taking my fiance's last name and moving my Indian last name to my middle name. When we have kids, they will likely have Indian-ish first names (though easier to pronounce than my own!) but will have my last name as their middle names.

  46. Great giveaway - certainly something every bride could use. Myself well - I will be a four name girl. His last name will just get added to the end. I do not want to be hyphenated or go by both last names. I will use his last name as my own, but I'm keeping the other just for sentimental reasons.

  47. I will be taking his last name and probably dropping my middle name so that I can keep my last. There are eight girls in our family and no boys, and my daddy has two sisters but no brothers - so there's no one to carry on the name. Because of that, we've pretty much all kept our last name. I just haven't decided yet if I want to drop my middle or keep my middle and my last, basically giving me two middle names. A few family members occasionally call me by both my first and my middle name, so it would seem a bit strange to lose that.

  51. I agree with mismikado! I will be using this kit regardless- but it would be wonderful to win it :)

I will be taking my fiance's last name-Thompson.

I was kind of sad to not to be able to keep my maiden name as my middle name but it would have been -Stephanie Richardson Thompson! Way too long! so I will be keeping my middle name but I am happy to do so as it is my grandmother's name and what an honor it is to carry that on!

  52. I am taking my fiance's last name and using my maiden name as a middle name. However, he also is taking my maiden name as a middle name. I think it's a great compromise, honoring both of our families and our respect for each other.

  53. My father was an only child who had only daughters, and his father had only sisters as well, so my family name will end with me and my sister. My fiance has a very common last name, and I've been trying to convince him to incorporate my last name into is, possibly both of us hyphenating. No such luck so far, so I will probably decide to move my last name to a middle name.
