Custom silhouettes

Feb 27, 2009

Remember this post about using custom-cut silhouettes in place of family photos at your wedding? Well, I have the most wonderful resource to share with you today to accomplish just that!

Vinyl Silhouettes is a new online shop where you can e-mail your photos and have them turned into silhouettes of any size, shape and color! What are vinyl silhouettes? They say it best on their Web site: Think of them as custom decorative stickers! They are the thickness of a single coat of paint and resemble hand-painted art work.

I've loved silhouettes for such a long time and I've always thought it would be special to have two traditional bust-style silhouettes made of J&I with our wedding day photos. About two weeks ago, I ordered them through Vinyl Silhouettes (and I have to tell you guys, the one-on-one service was phenomenal!) and they arrived in the mail yesterday! I. am. smitten:

I think we look so sweet and I love that you can see J's boutonniere! :o) I can't wait to get them framed! Make sure you check out their idea gallery, too! You can get head profiles, full body silhouettes and even a silhouette of your darling pet! And there's plenty of other great inspiration, like this:

  4. Love them! What photos did you use? (I have been going thru them trying to figure it out) We are completely enchanted with all the ways you have used the photos so creatively.

  5. Vicki: Hi! Glad you like them! :o) We used two different photos you guys took on the beach -- they were actually pretty much silhouettes to begin with but they worked out perfectly b/c of the great profiles! xo.

  7. Super cute! Great idea! I'm not a huge fan of the photos on the mantle thing, so this is a great alternative :)
