in love ...
with these Melissa Sweet (Reverie line) dresses the minute I spotted them on this adorable blog. Classic yet modern. And I would have absolutely considered wearing that first one at our wedding! While Ms. Sweet definitely knows how to create eye candy, the attached price tag may not be as sweet for some to stomach. I decided to take a look around and see if I could find any gowns just as beautiful but for a fraction of the price. ... And, you know I did! Check out this beaded lace number, this simply gorgeous A-line gown and this lovely trumpet style. Still pretty without breaking the bank. These wedding gowns definitely offer the classic look for less cash.

Wow, really stunning! These really evoke that Hepburn style we all love so much.
ReplyDeleteI will be wearing a Vineyard [same parent brand as Melissa Sweet/Reverie] that goes along these lines, check it out!! http://www.priscillaofboston.com/dress_detail.jsp?gid=610&sfid=50803&f=
OH, that first one REALLY gets me!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat first dress has had my heart for a long time, I really struggled with weather or not I wanted to do tea length (I ended up getting a long dress).
ReplyDeleteMelissa Sweet is by far my FAVORITE designer...i really love vintage and she does 50s vintage style so well, but too expensive for my budget :(
Oh that third dress...so classy! It's got a Jackie O. look going on...:)
ReplyDeleteThe first and third are both perfect. I absolutely love them!
ReplyDeleteI thought I'd mention La Sposa and San Patrick as lines that are pretty reasonably priced. I almost never see them mentioned in magazines or on blogs, but I was deciding between one from each line (they're sister companies, so the two styles were pretty similar) before I went to one of the Brides Against Breast Cancer events, lucked out, and went with something beautiful and completely different (you'd like it--it's very Grace K.). Even though I ditched the LS and SP options, I still think they were lovely, and I think I remember them being around $1250--certainly not inexpensive, but much more affordable than Melissa Sweet.
pssst! my dress is an exact replica of a Melissa Sweet dress that was $4000 in store. Mine only cost $1600! Identical.
ReplyDeletehere is the MS

ReplyDeleteThese are so beautiful. And thank you for showing us some less expensive alternatives. David's was never on my list of considerations but I may have to rethink my preconceived notions....

ReplyDeleteI adore your blog. Truly a lady after my own heart! The second dress was ALMOST my wedding dress. it was a close second to another, new Reverie dress.
