Blurb book giveaway!

Jan 26, 2009

Remember this beautiful book, created by a bride, documenting her amazing honeymoon in Paris? Well, it served as inspiration enough for me to start creating my own version using the same fabulous publishing service, Blurb.
And, today, Blurb has graciously offered to give away 5 gift certificates worth $54.95 to 5 lucky CB readers! Blurb books make perfect guest books, engagement photo albums, wedding albums and more! Even better, Blurb introduced Premium Paper last fall. The 100-pound silk-finish paper is 35% heavier than Blurb’s standard 80-pound paper, and features improved opacity and superior print quality.
To enter the contest, please comment below with a link to the image you’d use on the cover of your book. Also, please use a valid e-mail so that we will be able to contact you. You have until midnight CST this Friday to enter. The winners' names & photos will be posted this Saturday.

But, here's a picture of our engagement photos that would be fun for an engagement photo book.

  5. we haven't taken engagement photos yet, but we would probably use this photo (link: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/photo.php?pid=657016&id=608927591) from our first trip together. We traveled to Morocco after only dating for two months (needless to say, our parents were surprised). We finally ended up at the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the southernmost outpost of the Roman Empire, by taking a ride with an illegal taxi from Fez.

We're using travel and historical architecture as themes for our wedding, since these things brought us to fall in love with one another, beginning with this impulsive trip.

  17. How awesome! We've been thinking about doing a blurb book! I'd probably use this photo: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=32963654&id=5612005#/photo.php?pid=32963652&id=5612005 for a number of reasons. First, it's a picture that is very representative of London where my fiance and I first lived together. Second, it was one of the most fun times in our life together (travelling and studying abroad!). Third, our class took a fantastic field trip to parliament (we're law students) that was a blast! So many great memories wrapped into one little picture...

  27. Oh, this is such a neat idea! I would love to make a book for my grandparents of the Alaskan cruise vacation my family took in August 08. It was the first time that my grandparents (who live in upstate NY) had ever been to the East Coast and it was in celebration of their 50th anniversary. It is an amazing memory to have of the two of them as we all continue to inevitably age. I appreciate them more and more the older I get, and the week we all had together (with my parents and sister) was precious. It would be so lovely to immortalize it in book form!

Here is a shot from the deck of the boat. Alaska is beautiful!

  80. First off, I just wanted to say how much I love your blog - I've been reading it ever since I got engaged in May. I actually just started a blog myself - about design, invitations, jewelry, weddings and more - www.kegdesign.com - check it out! I'd love to create my wedding guest book through Blurb. Here's my entry...thanks for hosting such a great contest!
