Consider this photo a rough draft of our welcome baskets. I'm still on the hunt for little packets of sunscreen and/or aspirin. Also, a little closer to our wedding date, we'll have the task of making sugar cookies using the Mississippi-shaped cookie cutter and then packaging them with 'Welcome to Miss.' labels. Annnnd, I still have to make a Welcome Note packet for everyone including some directions and favorite restaurants around town -- I found the cutest white scalloped-edged notecards at Target to use. And, if that's not enough, I'd like to find little tags to hang on the handle with baker's twine with the couple or family's name. Whew.
Anyone else doing a specialized/regional welcome bag/tote/basket/bucket?
If you have any suggestions, ideas, tips ... I'm all ears!
(Here's the link to my original inspiration for the baskets.)

I love them, the starfish goldfish are the best! :)
ReplyDeleteI found single use sunscreen packets on ebay. They were perfect for our welcome bags. And they were brand new, never been used, so they were safe! :)
ReplyDeleteI loooove CRUSH soda!
ReplyDeleteDo you have any regional candy or favorite candy of you and or fiance? Is there a local snack that you could put in there? For out welcome packets I am putting in buckeye candy and Al's Popcorn since they are both local favorites. I love the orange crush.
ReplyDeleteYou may have already found these already, but I found that office supply stores like Staples, Office Depot, etc. sell the individual packets of Advil, Tylenol, etc. I was also able to find them on Amazon for about $12 for a box of 50 individual packets.
ReplyDeleteI love crush soda! Great Idea!

www.mdskincare.com has individually packaged sunscreen wipes. I'm Irish/English/Welsh, so I know about sunscreen!! :)
ReplyDeleteStaples/Office Max/Office Depot/Target all sell single-use packets of aspirin, tylenol, excedrin, etc. You could get a big bottle of sunscreen and then you could put them in cute decorative travel bottles, you know, like from the travel aisle of Target or Wally World or CVS or something!

I am totally in love with the Miss shaped cookie, that is fantastic. As a NY bride we are going to do mini black and white cookies. And then some choclate covered pretzels from my hometown favorite candy store. the local guides are great, you may want to include a little itinerary along with the directions and any special instructrions (like for me we are having a bus transport the guests)
ReplyDeleteInstead of hangtags I bet you could just make some really great labels that will decorate the bucket!
Ok, maybe this is obvious, but when do you give people the welcome bucket? I don't get it.
ReplyDeleteJennifer: A lot of brides choose to take them to the hotels where guests will be staying and have them put in the respective rooms as a surprise when guests arrive. It's a lovely idea but rather hard for us since guests are staying in several different places. We'll have them arranged at the rehearsal/welcome dinner since we've invited all of our guests. Hope that helps!
